Project Reveal: Baby H’s Nursery

Sometimes you meet people and you just instantly click. This was me and my glorious friend Daniel. We met at an industry conference in Sydney just before he joined the company I worked at at the time and we just hit it off.

Fast forward a few years, Daniel met an equally glorious human of the female variety and well, the same thing happened. Leslie is full of energy, an absolute ray of sunshine, and a fierce lady. She had me at hello.

When the news came that baby H was on the way, I had just finished my first Savage Interiors project so I emailed Leslie and said “can I PLEASE do a nursery mood board? You know. Just for fun!”. Her brief was: “Chic with a touch of whimsical, something that doesn’t scream nursery, nothing too sweet”. So off I went and came up with this concept and sample boards:

What ensued what hours of sourcing and I have to say, with Savage Junior being 9, it felt a little unfamiliar going back into baby stuff but I had so much fun putting it all together for them. I also tried a new room planning software and did 3D renders.

What I forgot to mention so far is that Leslie and Daniel live in good old America (a lot of my friends do!) and so we facetimed throughout her pregnancy as I put together the source list and she went about putting the scheme together. Here are some pictures of the room before we started:

And here is the finished article, courtesy of the super talented Alex Morris who shot fabulous pictures of baby H and his glorious parents! Can’t wait to meet him…
